Ra: God of the Sun

The ancient Egyptians revered Ra as the god who created everything. Also known as the Sun God, Ra was a powerful deity and a central god of the Egyptian pantheon. The ancient Egyptians worshiped Ra more than any other god and pharaohs often connected themselves with Ra in their efforts to be seen as the earthly embodiment of the Sun God. Ra (pronounced ray) represents sunlight, warmth and growth. It was only natural that the ancient Egyptians would believe him to be the creator of the world, as well as part of him being represented in every other god. The ancient Egyptians believed that every god should illustrate some aspect of him, while Ra himself should also represent every god.

All of our malas are made with genuine high quality semi-precious stones that each carry their own special and specific energetic properties to help you attract or overcome certain feelings, thoughts and emotions.

This mala necklace is part of our Element Collection, representing the Fire Element.

This traditional Tibetan mala has 108 beads, plus 3 marker beads (not to be counted in meditation), and a guru bead and silk tassel.

Elements: Carnelian, with Black Onyx marker beads and Lava Stone guru bead. The tassel is 100% spun silk in variegated shades of red and yellow.

Thread: This necklace has been strung with Red color Nylon thread for its strength and durability, especially important when working with natural stones, as their hard edges can sometimes rub against and weaken other threads such as cotton or silk.

All of our malas are hand-knotted between each bead, which protects your beads should the necklace ever break. It also helps alleviate potential damage caused by beads rubbing against each other.

Note: This mala is available in two different sizes, with 6mm and 8mm stones, and is available with faceted or smooth round beads. The 6mm mala measures approximately 20" and the 8mm mala measures approximately 24" when measured from the center marker bead to the bottom of the tassel. Due to the fact that each item is hand-knotted, there may be some slight variations from one mala to another. Please specify size and finish during checkout.

All our mala designs are also available in 27 bead pocket malas, as well as intention bracelets and more delicate wire-wrapped jewelry.
